Entry into Bethlehem is normally prohibited - the town is barricaded. Palestinians cannot leave, and only "authorized" personnel can enter. However, on this day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day, pilgrims are given permission to enter. Alberto and Mony\s timing is miraculous indeed and they consider themselves fortunate to be here.'

This is the entrance to the Church of the Nativity. Believers proclaim it was purposely constructed in this way so that people enter with heads bowed, in reverence to the site. Others claim it was rebuilt in this way to prevent invading armies on horseback from entering the Church.
